This guide details setting up a Mac, including activating the device, completing initial setup and sign-in, and registering with Microsoft. It covers configuring Microsoft Edge, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and TeamViewer, as well as completing security settings approval. Activate Mac (If Required)
If you don’t see “Activate Mac” and boot right to the Welcome screen, move on to the next stage
If requested, plug the power adapter into your Mac, then press the power button to power it on.
At the Recovery Assistant Screen, click on the Wifi icon in the top right to connect to your wireless network. Click Next
Enter your Wifi password, click Join
Wait for the "Your Mac is Activated" Window. Click Restart
Wait for it to reboot to the "Welcome or Hello" screen.
Run through all of the initial setup and sign-in steps
Pick your language, click the right arrow
Click Enroll
Click Continue.
Enter your company email address, then click Next.
Click Face, fingerprint, PIN, or security key
Click Scan QR Code
Open the camera app on your phone and point the camera at the QR code
Click Continue below "Your phone needs to connect to this device in order to sign in with a Passkey."
Click Continue below "Sign in with your passkey?"
Create a new complex but memorable password.
Confirm your new password
Click Continue
If asked: check "Enable Location", click Continue
You will now be at the desktop. Wait until the Configuring your Mac process completes before moving on to the next step
Click Close
If asked: Click Ok
If you see this pop-up, close it.
Register your Mac with Microsoft
Click the FT icon in your taskbar, then click Open Self Serve Business App.
Under Your Tasks, click Run Now
Once you see this window, you are done and can close the Self Service app
Set up Microsoft Edge
Click on Microsoft Edge in your Doc
In the top-right notification, click Options, then Allow
Deselect “Help improve…”
Click Start Microsoft Edge
Click setup
Click Page settings
Turn everything off
Click on the 3 dots up top
Click Settings
Update your preferred settings
Set up Microsoft Outlook
Click on the Outlook icon in your dock
If asked: Enter your work email address
Click Continue
Click Done
Click Continue and set your personalization preferences
Set up Microsoft Teams
Click on your email address to sign in
When asked, click Allow
Set up Microsoft OneDrive
Click on the OneDrive icon in your Dock
Click Open OneDrive Folder
Click Allow
Set up TeamViewer
Click on the TeamViewer icon in the top right
Click Check System access
Click Setup Screen Recording
Click Open System Settings
Toggle on beside TeamViewer Host
Click Quit & Reopen
Click OK and close the System Settings window
Complete additional security settings approval
Shortly after you're at your desktop, you will get the following pop-up.
Enter your Mac password and click on Confirm
